Dazee

Dj, Producer, Label Owner, Broadcaster and Original Jungle Pioneer, Dazee brings her wealth of experience plus a big  charge of energy to the dancefloor. Her style is a bouncy mix of jungle rollers and steppers with a peppering of jump  up and classic vibes : the sound that is synonymous with her  label, Ruffneck Ting Records.

Dazee began her “jungle crusade” in 1992 and co- founded Ruffneck Ting alongside Markee Substance  (Kosheen) in 1993. Regular appearances at celebrated 90’s raves, Universe, Dreamscape, Helter Skelter,  Hysteria, and World Dance, helped build her name, with her sets captured forever in many of the tape packs from that era. Since then Her pioneering sound has taken her around the globe and she has featured on BBC  Radio 1, Ministry Of Sound, BBC 1Xtra, VH1 HTV and ITV.

Dazee’s productions and co-labs have seen successful releases over two decades on independent dnb labels  Breakbeat Culture, Colourstone, Siren Records, Hocus Pocus and of course Ruffneck Ting. She stepped up to  manage Ruffneck Ting Records after the relaunch in 2013 with the 1990’s classics album RNT20 . The label  has since gone from strength to strength with a succession of EPs topping independent dnb download charts.  In 2016, with the help of label regulars, Jinx, K Jah, Vytol and artist, Steve Wright, Dazee released “The Xtraordinary League Of Junglists” ,a sci-fi inspired concept album with accompanying vinyl and comic. She  released the second Xtraodinary Junglist album in 2018, continuing the theme and showcasing the huge roster  of artists now producing for the label.

No stranger to broadcasting throughout her career, Dazee began in the mid 90’s with shows on Bristol’s pirates,  Ragga and Passion FM, alongside her then partner in crime, MC Jakes (Hench). This was soon followed by a  weekly dnb chart mix on Galaxy 101 and several performances on BBC Radio 1’s One In The Jungle. In 1996  Dazee featured in “The Sounds Of The West” documentary alongside Roni Size and Krust and in 2001, HTV’s  “The Session” that featured her dnb music project, Eden. In the mid 2000’s, Dazee’s involvement with all-female  collective Dutty Girl led to a performance on ITVs “Fixers” and mixing Genna G’s winning mixtape for 1Xtra’s  “Homegrown Challenge”

Dazee’s dnb adventures continue into the future with regular Ruffneck Ting events, a fortnightly radio show on  Bristol’s award winning Ujima FM and guest shows on Kool FM , Rough Tempo and Run Tingz Radio. She is  resident at Bristol’s biggest dnb night, Run and her dj sets can be heard at Glastonbury, Love Saves The Day,  Hospitality, Unity in The Sun and Royal Rumble to name but a few. On top of this, while production and label  management keep her busy, she enjoys mentoring and teaching projects, helping aspiring artists progress in  the scene. “I’ll always do my best to bring colorful sounds and positive vibes to the scene and try and help other people with their creative journeys whenever I can”
