South London and ex-Southsea resident Elrobo has been DJing for almost ten years, and it all started she got chatting to someone at a local D&B night about their love for the genre, and ended up buying their turntables for fifty quid.
What started as a bit of fun being a bedroom DJ and mixing the same five records over and over, has now led to multiple festival appearances and club gigs [Boomtown and Noisily Festival, and Brixton’s Hootanannys and Berlin’s Crack Belmar to name a few] as well as co-running the notorious Portsmouth based UPdnb collective and hosting broadcasts on Music Box Radio and AAJA Radio.
Elrobo’s style is varied and always aims to bounce off the crowd and surroundings, but broadly speaking you can expect a selection from the bass heavier end of the spectrum. Anything from minimal drum & bass to garage, dub techno to breaks, leftfield house to electro, there is an exploration of sounds and styles in every set.
2020 has been a time to push things to a new level, and with the launch of a new promotions group ISIT?! exploring and supporting local artists across bass heavy music and a foot finally in production be sure to watch this space.
